I have decided this is my last post on Daily Design Papers. Yesterday, my dad had a heart attack. He is doing just fine, but I am in the mood for prioritizing. I LOVE making these papers, but one a day is out of balance. I will not stop making design papers, but will simply choose those I want to become part of my paper quilts. I do have another venture percolating in my brain. There will be more about that later at Silverspring Studio.

As the Crow Flies DP
Like that crow on the far right, I am off to other places, artistically speaking.

More tire tracks in the snow . . . . the way all the tracks converged, and that grate near the convergence, all arrested my attention.

Tire Tracks Over Grate P
I knew the convergences would create a pleasing pattern. I especially like that infinity symbol.

We all have memories of cutting these out, don’t we? You can see the real thing outside the window.

Paper Snowflakes P
I decided to keep it simple.

This sunlight managed to find its way into a dark space. It glows in a spectacularly graphic way.

Sunlight Getting Through P
I’m always seeing a story. This one is called The Race.

A diaphanous white curtain causes your eyes to play hide and seek with the sun and the view of the neighbor’s house.

Knotted Curtain P
This is what keeps me at this: the surprises that emerge. The coolness of water, the heat of fire.

Fire & Water DP
How did a white curtain translate into this piece? To tell you, I would need a translator, or a recorder: someone sitting beside me and writing down all the various ways I change the image. It’s almost impossible to do yourself: creative mode and analytical mode both work well, but not simultaneously!

The shadows are larger than life.

Guitar Behind Chair P
I simplify things a little for a more dramatic effect.

Look at these luscious waffle cones, made by my daughter-in-law.

Waffle Cones P
One design paper reminds me of New Mexico. Orange and turquoise, and all the various gradations, are forever etched in my mind as Santa Fe colors.

Santa Fe DP
This one has a soft look of old lace.

This unusual light fixture does not need any changes to make a beautiful design paper.

The lone tree against the snow displayed a combination of fragility and strength.

Triangles are a favorite symbol of mine, so peaked roofs have a natural appeal.

Peaked Roof P
I peak becomes many, with the mooning rising behind them.
